Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from a multiethnic background. The father of Jacqueline, Elroy Fernandez is from Sri Lanka. Jacqueline has two older brothers as well as a younger sister. She was born and raised in Bahrain. Her parents been to the country in the 1980s due to the civil war within Sri Lanka. Schooling was finished within Bahrain and she won a Scholarship to an education at University of Sydney. There she was awarded an Media and Communications degree. To further develop her love of cultures, languages and other languages she enrolled in the Berlitz school of languages, in order to learn Spanish in addition to improving French and Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006. She also participated as Miss Universe 2006 also. In the wake of being crowned Miss Sri Lanka in 2006 Padukone was able to begin her work in the world of television. She hosted the television show Lanka Business Report which focused on the business of Sri Lanka. Padukone (the mother of badminton players Prakash Padukone) was born and raised in Bangalore. As a teenager, she participated in national badminton events, but she backed off the sport and became a fashion designer. Padukone is from Mangalorean origin Her mother language is Konkani. Padukone, a village situated in Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi in Karnataka State, India, is where her ancestry is derived from. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend, who retired in the late 1980s. The mother of her daughter, who worked for a travel agency, also hails from this village.
